They say opposites attract, and a part from our mutual desire to live life the way we want and explore every inch of this planet, me and G opitimise this rule of the heart!
This has in the past made for very interesting journeys where I am exhibiting my beautiful vocal cords (I’m yorkshire through and through and unfortunately for those around me, I sing as I speak) and G drums on everything and anything and will tap you if he thinks you’ve switched off. No doubt one of us at some point will smile sweetly at the other and say kindly “please babe, enough now”. With this in mind, a long journey could go one of 2 ways especially when you throw in our excitability and belief that what we are doing must be as enjoyable for the other…

So we had to have a plan more so for our transits than any other point. Things like books and magazines wouldn’t really work for us as our attention spans aren’t great but I know many that easily pass long periods of time happily by reading. We tried alcohol in the departure lounges but if anything we get more exciteable and louder although a couple of lagers will help me sleep eventually so I’ll always give a good drinking sesh a go and poor G will put up with the consequences!

G did really well and managed not to practice his drumming skills and instead concentrated on explaining the mechanics of the pilot and aeroplane with a non-stop running commentary from take off to landing. I busied myself with blogging only suffering a couple of whacks for not listening and slept when it got too much. This then became pay back as like all princesses, I make sleep noises.

Luckily we are both aware we can be pretty irritating even if we don’t care to admit it out loud. We know not to take it to heart when 1 of us can no longer keep interest so manage to stay friends and have a giggle. In the end we did survive and I’m pleased to say we are still together and in 1 piece 😃
Congratulations on surviving that long flight in such close proximity that formed your first 20 hours. You didn’t have to stop G from drumming on the headrest of the seat in front lol.
Looking forward to reading more of you two inflicting yourselves on an unsuspecting world x
