Love on the ‘paradise island’ of Bali

It’s Valentine’s Day which means it’s mine and Gs 2nd year anniversary! After nearly 6 months of slumming it in the same denim shorts with no make up I made it the perfect excuse to get dressed up and trade our hostel for a lush eco hotel and our £1 Nasi goreng special for an Indonesian banquet just for one night only of course!

Our day started waking in our beautiful eco villa at Bambhu Indah to the beautiful sunrise over Ubud.

We had a very yummy breakfast of eggs, fruit, fresh juice and Balinese coffee in our dressing gowns on the villa deck before heading out on the scooter for a day sight seeing in and around Ubud.

We enjoyed another ride on the moto through the beautifully lush rice fields, jungle and stunning ancient architecture that Bali earns it beauty from.

We rode all the way up to Mount Batur to see the beautiful Lake Batur before rain clouds rolled in making us take a quick escape back down the volcano to warmer ground!

We stopped for noodles and drinks at my favourite view in Tangallang…

…Then on to celebrate our 2nd year anniversary and Valentine’s Day with a Balinesian water blessing in the stunning ancient water temple, Tirta Empul. The 30 fountains cleanse the soul bringing bathers good luck and purity.

I’m so glad the sun made an unusual appearance and was shining all day long for us!

The sun was so hot that we headed back to our villa to cool off and relax by the pool… yeah no chance of relaxing with G!

Before long hunger struck again, so up we went to the main hotel for afternoon tea with views of Ayung River and surrounding Rice fields.
We enjoyed sunset drinks too at our villa…

… which had been dressed perfectly for Valentine’s Day!

Bali is such a special place. The aura the island brings really is unmatched so I can’t think of a more wonderful place to spend with the people you love. I’ll be posting my thoughts on Bali very soon but for now I will end by sending all our love to everyone back home ❤️💕❤️
